I am Madhav Shastri. I did my engineering last year in I.T. I was always fond of banking exams and was never into coding and all those computers stuff. I got placed from my college in Infosys. Worked there for 8 months. The training period was good…but after that, I started feeling suffocated while being on the job… I gave IBPS 2016 before joining Infosys. Failed in Pre and didn’t even saw the marks. In Ibps RRB I got 43 and cutoff Bihar was 49. This was something which always gave me a hope that I was unable to secure just 6 more marks and with a consistent effort, I can do it one day.
While working I appeared for IPPB Recruitment without any practice and failed miserably. Then I decided I won’t care about my private job and will completely focus on my preparation. After IPPB next exam was BOB. It couldn’t perform well in the exam. I am a general category candidate and I attempted around 110-112…so I was not optimistic at all. Then I became more serious in studies and I appeared for SBI Recruitment exams.
I secured 51.5 in SBI. Which gave m a huge boost in confidence. That yes although I am on border. I can do something. Then I appeared for NICL…Which went more than expected, 71 attempts and I was now feeling more confident than ever before.
There was a sense of fear in me when vacancies were decreasing. I had also left my job. Sometimes I felt like “what I am doing?” But when I cleared BOB written and SBI Prelims my parents supported me. My father said to me, “you’ve cleared these exams while working on a full-time job. So I can give you 1-2 years more if you want to prepare.. If you don’t clear this time..don’t be disheartened”
Gathering up all the courage I could, I gave BOB interview and GD and it went unexpectedly good. Being my first experience I was quite happy. In this short span of time I cracked SBI mains, NICL mains, and BOB PGDBF.
My score in BOB is 133.75 out of 250 and in the personal interview, I got 47 marks and 47 in Group Discussion. So that was a game changer.
I never thought that I will clear with 110-112 attempts. I’ve always heard – “low cutoff walon ka bhi chance hota h interview mein accha score karne ka.” And now I’ve seen that myself that you can achieve your dream, you just need to be patient and work hard.
Never loose hope.. Don’t go for vague attempts.. Go for accuracy first.. Then try to increase attempts.. Don’t lose hope if you’ve qualified with low attempts for an interview you still have a chance, just like I did. You never know what can happen..
I would like to thank the Almighty, my most supportive room mates Rahul and Pradeep, my parents, friends… last but not the least Bankersadda for the Hindu Capsule, Free mocks, Current affairs and that awesome app ADDA247..that Is awesome..
Guys enjoy this time. This is life..Win lose. Make friends.. Fight for yourself and your goals. For your parent’s happiness and you will achieve what you want.. Phir bank exam ek normal sa part lgega.. 🙂
