The Human Resource Department of the Bank of India has released the notification for the Promotion Exam from the clerical cadre to the General Banking Officers’ Cadre(Junior Management Grade Scale-I). BOI Promotion Exam 2024 Application Form

Candidates eligible have to submit the application form for the Bank of India Promotion Exam 2024 through the HRMS self-service module from 30 August 2024 to 05 September 2024. The controlling authority of the respective pay group will approve the form from 30 August to 06 September 2024. Candidates must ensure they fill in the marks/particulars correctly as the zonal authorities will verify the eligibility later.

There are 356 vacancies available for promotion from the Clerical cadre to the General Banking Officers’ cadre in Junior Management Grade Scale I. The eligibility date for these promotions is 31 December 2024. The management reserves the right to reduce the number of promotions if there are insufficient qualified candidates.

Bank of India Promotion Exam 2024 Eligibility

The clerical staff applying for the Bank of India Promotion Exam 2024 should ensure the eligibility criteria both in terms of service and educational qualification. The cut-off date for eligibility in terms of service will be 31 December 2024(31.12.2024) and in terms of educational qualification will be 31 August 2024(31.08.2024). • Graduation from a recognized University and should have completed three years of service in the clerical cadre in the bank.
• MBA / MCA / MMS / PGDM from a Government-recognized University or deemed University and a minimum of two years of service in the Clerical Cadre of the Bank.
• Chartered Accountant / Company Secretary / ICWA / CFA Degree from a Government-recognized Institute and a minimum of one year of service in the Clerical Cadre of the Bank.
• For Clerks not eligible under the above options: S.S.C. / Matriculation / 12th Std. Passed (10+2+3 pattern) or equivalent from a Government-recognized Board and a minimum of eight years of service in the Clerical Cadre of the Bank.

Bank of India Promotion Exam 2024: Marks Distribution

The maximum mark for the Bank of India Promotion Exam 2024 from the clerical cadre to the General Banking Officers’ Cadre(Junior Management Grade Scale-I) is 100. The distribution of marks for the BOI Promotion Exam 2024 is as follows:

• Service-20 Marks
• Educational Qualification-15 Marks
• Written/Online Test-60 Marks

BOI Promotion Exam 2024: Service

The criteria of the service for the Bank of India Promotion Exam 2024 have been mentioned below.

• Each completed year of service will earn candidates one mark, up to a maximum of 20 marks (based on service as of 31 December 2024).
• If candidates have worked for Bank of Karad Ltd., Parur Central Bank Ltd., or Industrial Investment Bank of India, the service there will be counted as 1.5 years equivalent to 1 year of service in the Bank of India.

Bank of India Promotion Exam 2024: Online Test

The eligible candidates will have to appear for the online/written test. A total of 130 multiple choice questions will be asked from various areas of Banking/Banking Law & Practice for 65 marks, the duration to solve will be 130 minutes(2 Hours 10 Minutes). There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. To qualify and get a ranking in the merit list candidates must secure a minimum of 22 marks out of 65 in the online exam. The minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST/PWD category candidates is 18.75.
