Bank Holidays in June 2024: Bank customers should anticipate an elongated period of non-operational days in June 2024. This is because of the alignment of multiple religious festivals and the usual weekend closures. All major national banks, such as the prominent State Bank of India (SBI), will observe closures for a minimum of 10 days throughout the month.
Bank holidays differ across states, but all banks universally close on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. Additionally, they observe three national holidays: Republic Day (January 26), Independence Day (August 15), and Gandhi Jayanti (October 2). Banks also remain closed on local festivals.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) collaborates with state governments to determine the bank holiday schedule. Regional bank holidays vary according to the distinct traditions of each state. In this article, we’ve outlined the holidays based on the states and union territories they pertain to.
