Lok Sabha Passes Finance Bill 2025: Key Highlights and Implications
The Lok Sabha passed the Finance Bill 2025 on March 25, 2025, with 35 amendments, including the abolition of the 6% digital tax on online ads, marking the completion of the Budget approval process before moving to the Rajya Sabha. The Union Budget 2025-26, with a total expenditure of ₹50.65 lakh crore (7.4% increase), includes ₹11.22 lakh crore for capital expenditure and ₹42.70 lakh crore in gross tax revenue. S&P Lowers India’s Growth Forecast for FY26 to 6.5%
S&P Global has revised India’s GDP growth forecast for FY26 down to 6.5% (from 6.7%), citing assumptions of a normal monsoon and stable crude oil prices.
