About Column Errors 

In column errors, you are given a sentence with four words highlighted in it. Further, there are two columns. In the first column, there will be written the highlighted words of the sentence. While in the other column, it will contain the list of correct words to replace the wrong ones in the first column (if any). Weightage of column errors in IBPS PO Exam

(a) Since it’s a scoring topic, you should be well-versed with grammar rules. Good grasp over grammar will help you out in this section. 

(b) Start learning rules to spot errors related to nouns, pronouns, tenses, articles, adjective, adverb etc. 

(c) if you develop a good reading habit using newspapers, you will be able to spot the error right away. 

(d) Besides, read the sentence carefully and try to understand its context. This will let you sense the words that may be causing disturbance in the context of the given sentence and changing its intended meaning. 

(e) further, start eliminating the options that are the wrong according to you and find out which one sounds right and fits best in the sentence both contextually and grammatically.

Sol. Here, replacing 1-5 and 2-6 will change ‘lost-loss’ and ‘incur-incurred’. This will make the sentence grammatically correct and contextually meaningful.
