AMNESTY(Noun)

Meaning: a decision by a government to forgive people who have committed particular illegal acts or crimes, and not to punish them

INFRINGE(verb)

Meaning: to act in a way that is against a law or that limits someone’s rights or freedom

REVERE(verb)

Meaning: to regard someone or something with great respect or devotion

Synonyms: admire, adore

Antonyms: criticize

MOMENTOUS (adjective) 

Meaning: of great importance or significance, especially in having a bearing on future events.

Synonyms: significant, fateful, portentous, critical.

HOBBLE (verb)

Meaning: walk in an awkward way, typically because of pain from an injury.

Synonyms: totter, dodder, falter, lurch.

Antonyms: breeze, glide, sail, stride.

Example: And the Olympic silver medallist in Sydney looked to be in considerable pain as he hobbled off the track.’

DEADLOCK (noun) 

Meaning: a situation, typically one involving opposing parties, in which no progress can be made.

Synonyms: stalemate, impasse, checkmate, stand-off.

Antonyms: breakthrough, advance, progress, accomplishment.

Example: As a result, they are looking to end the current deadlock by resorting to extra-parliamentary means.
