SBI released the result for the SBI Clerk preliminary examination 2019 after a long wait. Students were waiting for some news related to the SBI Clerk prelims 2019 result from many days and finally, when it was declared, that was a result worth the wait. How much the cut-off varied in 2019 compared to 2018 in some states?
Now the target of this post today is to discuss the cut-offs of last year and this year’s SBI Clerk preliminary examination. As most of you have might have realized, this year the cut-off for SBI Clerk prelims exam was higher than the last year. If we compare some big states the cut off varied drastically for some and remains almost constant for others. Like Delhi had a cut-off of 71.75 in 2018 and in 2019 the cut-off is 71.25, so we can see it is almost the same. Whereas for Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra the cut-off hiked to a great number. For Uttar Pradesh, it was 69.25 in 2018 and 72.25 in 2019 and For Maharashtra, it was 57.00 in 2018 and was raised to 62.25 this year. Such a change in cut-offs has left students in a surprise. Well, we are too.
What are the factors for the Cut-Off analysis:
- The cut-off of any examination depends on a number of factors which are
- Difficulty level of the Examination.
- Number of Vacancies.
- The number of average attempts with accuracy by the candidates is considered.
- Mains Qualifying ratio with respect to the total number of vacancies (1:10).
As we observed the level of the SBI Clerk Prelims 2019 was Easy-Moderate. SBI followed the status quo in terms of examination pattern. The questions revolved around traditional topics & no new pattern was introduced.
