Quantitative Aptitude Quiz For NIACL AO
Q1. Two trains having equal lengths, takes 1/4 minutes and 1/6 minutes respectively to cross a pole. In what time will they cross each other when travelling in opposite direction (in seconds)? Given the length of each train is 420 meters. (Neglect the length of pole)
Q2. A car runs at the speed of 40 km/h when not serviced and runs at 65 km/h, when serviced. After servicing the car covers a certain distance in 5 h. How much approximate time will the car take to cover the same distance when not serviced?
Time = 5 hours
Distance = Speed × Time = 65 ×5 = 325 km
Before servicing, speed = 40 km/h.
So, time taken
= Distance/Speed = 325/40
= 8 hours (approx.)
Q3. Find the speed of a boat in still water if the boat goes downstream 6 km and back to the starting point in 2 hours and the rate of flow of river water is 4 km/hr.
Q4. If the sum of upstream and downstream speed is 36 km/hr and the speed of the current is 3km/hr, then find time taken to cover 52.5 km in downward?
ATQ
x + 3 + x - 3 = 36
x = 18
Required time = 52.5/21 = 2.5 hr
Q5. Two place P and Q are 160 km apart. A train leaves P for Q and at the same time another train leaves Q for P. Both the trains meet 5 hrs after they start moving. If the train travelling from P to Q travels 6 km/hr faster than the other train, find the speed of the faster train.
∴ (x + x + 6) × 5 = 160
Or, 10x + 30 =160
Or, x = 13
∴ speed of faster train = 13 + 6 = 19 km/hr
Directions (6-10): What will come in place of question mark (?)
Q6.

Q7. 0.001 + 1.0001 + 1.101 – 0.0001 = ?
Q8. ? % of 540 – 280 ÷ 7 = (4/7) of 343
Directions (11 – 15): The graph suggests the no. of consumers and consumption of electricity units in five years. Electricity units are given in Lacks while the no. of consumers is given in thousand. Read the graph and answer the question.
Q11. What is the ratio of electricity consumption per consumer in 2012 to the same in 2015?
Q12. If no of consumers in 2016 is 120% more than in 2011 while the consumption remains same as in 2015, then what will be the impact of no of units consumed by a consumer in 2016 when compared to electricity consumption per consumer in 2015?
Q13. Electricity consumption in 2012 will be approximately how many times the total no. of consumer all over the years?
Q14. Total no of units in 2011 and 2013 are approximately what % more or less than Total units in 2012 & 2014 together?
Q15. In which of the following year, the ratio of unit consumption to the no. of consumers is maximum?
