Q1. If two pipes work simultaneously, a tank is filled in 12 hours. One pipe fills the tank 10 hours faster than the other. How many hours does the faster pipe alone take to fill the tank?

Solution:

Faster Pipe = x hours → x + 10 unit per hour
Slower pipe = x + 10 hours → x unit per hour
According to question,
12(x+10)+12x = x (x+10)
x = 20
So, faster pipe alone takes 20 hours to fill the tank.
