1. Hubris: (noun) अभिमान
Meaning: excessive pride or self-confidence.

4. Contentious: (adjective) विवादास्पद
Meaning: feeling or displaying eagerness to fight
Synonyms: aggressive, argumentative, assaultive, bellicose, belligerent, brawly, combative, confrontational, discordant, disputatious, feisty, gladiatorial, militant, pugnacious, quarrelsome, scrappy, truculent, warlike
Antonyms: nonaggressive, nonbelligerent, pacific, peaceable, peaceful, unbelligerent, uncombative, uncontentious
Usage: The Tartars were a contentious people who terrorized much of Asia and eastern Europe during the Middle Ages.

5. Vengeance: (noun) प्रतिशोध
Meaning: the act or an instance of responding to an injury with an injury
Synonyms: payback, reprisal, requital, retaliation, retribution, revenge
Antonyms: clemency, grace, leniency, lenity, mercy
forgiveness, pardon, remission
Usage: The murdered girl’s parents wanted vengeance in the form of the death penalty.

6. Deride: (verb) उपहास करना
Meaning: to make (someone or something) the object of unkind laughter
Synonyms: gibe, mock, ridicule, scout, shoot down, skewer
Antonyms: applaud, approve, commend, endorse, sanction

7. Demure: (adjective) संकोची
Meaning: affecting shyness or modesty
Synonyms: coy, kittenish
Antonyms: uncoy
Usage: We were not fooled by her demure self-deprecation.

8. Pecuniary: (adjective) धन-संबंधी
Meaning: of or relating to money, banking, or investments
Synonyms: dollars-and-cents, financial, fiscal, monetary, pocket
Antonyms: nonfinancial
Usage: When the stock market crashed, the millionaire’s pecuniary status changed dramatically and ended with him in a state of poverty

9. Unscrupulous: (adjective) विवेकहीन
Meaning: not guided by or showing a concern for what is right
Synonyms: cutthroat, immoral, Machiavellian, unconscionable, unethical, unprincipled
Antonyms: ethical, moral, principled, scrupulous
Usage:  An unscrupulous businessman manipulated them into selling their land for practically nothing.

10. Culpable: (adjective) सदोष
Meaning: deserving reproach or blame
Synonyms: blamable, blameworthy, censurable, reprehensible, reproachable
Antonyms: blameless, faultless, impeccable, irreproachable
Usage: She’s more culpable than the other children because she’s old enough to know better.
