International Day for Tolerance 2021: History
In 1993, UNESCO initiated the year of tolerance with the remark that “Tolerance is respect, acceptance, and appreciation of the rich diversity of our world’s cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human.” Later in 1996, the UN General assembly approved all the member states to celebrate international Day for thousands on 16th November every year. The idea voice to spread awareness regarding tolerance and promote nonviolence. The UNESCO – Madan Jeet Singh prize is awarded to an individual or organization every two years on the occasion of International Tolerance day along with the amount of US $100000.

The significance of this day is to build up tolerance amongst people and cultures. this day was adopted concerning the rising violence amongst people and societies. It is important to spread awareness amongst them and encourage them to build up their tolerance level. tolerance is also important for others’ rights and freedom, it is not only our moral duty but also a requirement for this generation.
