On the national youth day, different states across the country organize multiple events to celebrate this day. National Youth Day: History

Swami Vivekananda’s birthday was declared to be marked as the national youth day by the government of India in 1956. The aim to mark this day as national youth day is to motivate and encourage the youth of the country to follow the footsteps of Swami Vivekanand and to contribute themselves for the social and economical development.
