- Padma Shri Ram Sahay Pandey, a legendary exponent of Rai folk dance, passed away at the age of 92 in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.
- Despite facing poverty, orphanhood, and caste-based taboos, Pandey dedicated his life to revitalizing and promoting Rai dance, transforming it from a stigmatized art form into a celebrated cultural symbol.
