SBI PO is the most sought after recruitment process by banking aspirants. Group Exercise and Personal Interview is the final round (Phase-III) in SBI PO 2017 Recruitment. Last year SBI introduced a prioritisation based group exercise which is also being conducted this year in the Group Discussion Round. My Interview took place on 8th sept 2017 at SBI learning centre, sector 14 Panchkula. After reaching the venue they conducted document verification which was followed by the start of Group Discussion.

GD Topic- “Other sports are getting neglected in a cricket obessed nation like ours”

Group Discussion can be a tensed situation for some, but with confidence and clarity of thought, one can easily score in this phase. It is important to maintain the decorum of the session and avoid being too loud. Put forth your views and opinions firmly best backed by figures or facts and also let your fellow group members voice their opinions.

Group Exercise – Measures to curb food inflation


Group Exercise is performed after the discussion. In this group, exercise candidates were given a set of few qualities/ attributes/ traits/ parameters which they had to prioritize according to their understanding of the topic/ situation/ thinking ability.

  • Removal of middlemen
  • Increasing farm productivity
  • Campaign to reduce mass wastage
  • Increasing storage area
  • Curbs on hoarding
  • Free supply of food across states
  • Free imports of essential commodities that are in short supply

Personal Interview



M1: So you did BCom from Delhi University
Me: yes sir


M1: It was completed in 2015. What did u do after that?
Me: Sir I did French language course for 6 months and after that, I started preparing for bank exams.

F1: Why French? (I am also interested that is why I am asking you)
Me: answered

M1: So you know about Eiffel Tower; What is it?
Me: sir its a monument in Paris

M1: Ok, so tell me 7 wonders of the world
Me: answered

M1: What is the difference between power of attorney and mandate?
Me: Answered about Power of attorney but not mandate

M1: How many parties are there in letter of authority
Me: Sir 3 parties buyer seller and the bank

M1: There are more parties but for the sake of simplicity we can say 3. So what are your hobbies?
Me: Sir reading, writing and learning a foreign language.


M2(finally asked): What do u read?
Me: Sir fiction and biographies


M2: what have you read recently?
Me: The diary of a young girl Anne Frank


M2: Wow! (ye to mushkil si book h) This one is quite difficult to comprehend for readers.
F1: Not exactly difficult sir, its just quite old for some.

M2: What do you write?
Me: sir I am writing a story.


M2: Why don’t you publish it then?
Me: sir I am publishing it on the internet, chapter by chapter, and according to the views I will decide to publish it on paper.

M2: What kind of a story it is?
Me: Sir its a horror story.

M2: Oh.. so do u know any horror story by any Indian writer?
Me: Sorry sir I don’t know

M2: Answer this question carefully. In case the readers are not so pleased with the ending of your story and they are asking you to change it. What will you do, you’ll change it or you’ll go with your heart? 
Me: Sir I will not make any big or drastic changes but I’ll listen to their views. If I fell they are right I might consider making little changes then.


M2: What do you think, are you rigid in making decisions or flexible?
Me: sir I am flexible.


M2: Pure flexible?
Me: No sir, dusre k suggestion sunke agar muje thik lagte h to implement krti hu warna nhi

M3: So what is bank rate and how much it is?
Me: answered

M3: Okay, Thank You
