SBI PO Mains 2017 exam had two parts; first was the objective test of 200 marks which had 4 sections Data Analysis and Interpretation, English Language, Reasoning and Computer, and General Awareness(with special refernce to banking) for a duration of 3 hours and each section had its alloted time limit. Second was a descriptive test of 30 minutes which had Letter and Essay writing collectively for 50 marks

Dear Aspirants, SBI PO Mains Recruitment Exam is over, Now it’s time for exam the much awaited SBI PO Mains Exam Analysis & Review (4th June 2017) . A lot of students have appeared for this exam today and this brings them to a step closer in their journey of getting a Job in the most sought after Banking Recruitment in State Bank of India. Without wasting any moment, let’s get straight to the analysis for which you are all waiting for.
Overall exam did put up a tough fight in front of all candidates. And just as we say expect the unexpected from SBI, even this year SBI bombarded the exam with new pattern questions in all sections. G.A was a sight of relief as it was relatively easy.

DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION (Moderate-Difficult)
This section had 35 questions for 60 marks and time limit of 45 minutes. The level of quantitative aptitude was moderate to difficult. There were three sets of DI. There were 1 questions from Mixture and Allegation, 1 questions from patnership and 4 questions from mensuration.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE (Difficult)
This section had 35 questions for 40 marks and time limit of 40 minutes. The level of English was Difficult. There were two types of error dection, 4 questions were based on the conventional pattern and 4 quetsions were based on a new pattern where there were multiple errors in one sentence and candidate have to identify all the parts with errors in them. Phrase Replacement was of 3 sentences. There was a new type introduced in Jumbled sentences where they already gave you the starting and ending sentence rest of the arrangement was to be found out by the candidate. There were two Reading Comprehension of new type with 5 questions in each of them. Topic of RC was Banking and Economy and other one was related to Noise in production in corporate world.

REASONING AND COMPUTER APTITUDE ( Difficult )
This section had 45 questions for 60 marks and time limit of 60 minutes. The level of reasoning was difficult. There were NO questions of computer aptitude. There no questions of syllogism and there were 2 quetsions of Coding-Decoding in data sufficiency. New type of Machine Input-Output was introduced. Following were types of puzzles asked in reasoning section of SBI PO Mains exam:

- Blood Relation Puzzle (3 question)
- Circular Puzzle
- Linear (8 people facing north) (moderate among all others)
- New Patten Puzzle (Calculation based- shelf and photo frames)

GENERAL AWARENESS (Easy- Moderate)
This section had 40 questions for 40 marks and time limit of 35 minutes. This section was the one where candidates sought solace as it was relatively easy. Bankersadda’s G.K Power Capsule helped students a lot as many questions asked were coverd in the capsule already. Most of the questions were from current affairs.
DESCRIPTIVE TEST
This section was of 50 marks with a time limit of 30 minutes.
Letter Writing (150 words)
a) Write a letter to your branch manager as you’ve deposited some amount but it is still not credited into your account
b) Write a letter to editor expressing your concern over impact of irrelevant news through socia media
c) Write a letter to your sibling giving them advise related to stress and anxiety.

a) Write an essay on the positive and negative impact of technology.
b) Write an essay on effect of social media and its consequences on our population.

- Exam was full of new surprises and new pattern questions.
- G.A section was a sigh of relief as it was of easy-moderate level
