RBI Grade B – 2017 is a golden opportunity for those job aspirants who are looking for an entry in the banking sector through an officer post. When will be the exam conducted?

The tentative date for the Preliminary Phase-I exam is June 17, 2017.
The Tentative date for Mains i.e Phase-II Exam is July 7, 2017.

Will there be any interview after the written result?

Yes, as per the notification there will be an interview for candidates who are declared qualified in Phase-II exam.


Will the exam conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?

The exam would be conducted in Online mode only.

What is the age criteria to apply for this RBI Grade B – 2017 exam?

Minimum: 21 Years                              Maximum: 30 Years
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st of May, 2017 i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd May, 1987 and not later than 1st May, 1996.

What is the educational qualification required for various posts in this recruitment process?

A minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th Standard examinations.

What is the application Fee?

SC/ST/PWD candidates: Rs 100/-
GEN/OBC candidates: Rs 850/-

How to calculate the Percentage?

Some Universities/Institutes/Boards do not award Class or percentage of marks and allot Aggregate Grade Points (e.g. CGPA/OGPA/CPI, etc.). In case University/Institute/Board defines criteria for conversion of Aggregate Grade Point into a percentage of marks, the same will be accepted. But in the case if the University/Institute/Board does not define the criteria then the undefined parameter would be worked out as under:

What is the Structure of the exam?

(I) Phase-I online Examination (Objective Type): This will comprise a single Paper for 200 marks and will be held on June 17, 2017.

(II) Phase-II online Examination: The Phase-II online Examination will be conducted on July 7, 2017, only for the candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of results of Phase-I.

Is the exam Bilingual?

The tests except for the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
What is the cut-off for being recruited?

There is no fixed cutoff for RBI Grade B – 2017 examination. It depends on the performance of the candidates each year. Still, we are providing the previous year’s cut-off to give students an idea about the depth of exam.

Is there a criterion for negative marking?

Yes, there is negative marking of the ¼ mark for every wrong question attempted.

Is there any limited number of attempt to appear for preliminary exam?

Yes, there are maximum six attempts one can give for preliminary exam.

What is the salary of RBI GRADE B officer?

Pay Scale As per the notification for recruitment of RBI Officers (Grade-B): Pay Scale: Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of Rs. 35,150/- p.m. in the scale of Rs. 35150-1750(9)-50900-EB-1750(2)-54400-2000(4)-62400 applicable to Officers in Grade B and they will also be eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family allowance, and Grade Allowance as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments are approximately Rs. 67,933/-.
